Project Manager Qualifications

The ideal Project Manager is experienced and knowledgeable about construction, carpentry, hardware, and/or Division 8. An excellent multitasker, this individual will be detailed and diligent while still maintaining a sense of urgency in his or her work. Extremely organized, he or she will quickly be able to prioritize work among multiple high-dollar projects and will be able to make and execute decisions independently.

This team-oriented individual will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. When issues arise, the right candidate will be innovative, proactive and constructive when generating solutions and delivering feedback.

In staying customer-focused, the ideal Project Manager will interact with both our customers, vendors, and peers with honesty and respect. He or she will adapt to change and rapid growth with a positive attitude and will focus on being efficient and delivering high-quality projects.

Project Manager Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the Project Manager position include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing construction documents to determine the required material for a project and reviewing assigned material for accuracy and compatibility.
  • Providing quotes for doors, frames, and hardware to contractors.
  • Creating submittals for doors, frames, and hardware that summarizes the materials that will be used and sending submittals to the appropriate party for review.
  • Setting up materials needed for each customer order into LockNet's system and managing the dates that the materials will be sent to the customer.
  • Coordinating delivery of materials with site contacts according to project schedule and deadlines.
  • Maintaining external relationships by following-up with contractors to ensure safe and timely arrival of material.
  • Troubleshooting errors that may arise such as application or installation issues, changes in construction plans, damaged or defective materials, incorrectly supplied materials, etc.
  • Continually providing input for process improvements in terms of quoting, detailing, and managing projects.
  • Regularly interface with other departments (Accounting, Sales, Purchasing, etc).

Project Manager Specifications

Required

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
  • Must be a self-starter with high attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Architectural Hardware certification is a plus.
  • Experience is not necessary, but must possess a high willingness to learn.
  • Background in one or more of the following preferred: construction, carpentry, hardware, division 08.
