As a Project Manager, you would impact the company by managing customer's projects from quoting, reporting, monitoring, ordering and scheduling the install of parts through resolving technical and billing issues.

You would make valuable contributions by:

  • Demonstrating discretion and trust with confidential material.
  • Completing projects on time and in accordance with budget.
  • Effectively and efficiently resolving customer complaints and technical issues.
  • Demonstrating strong organizational skills through prioritizing and handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Consistently tracking the progress of all projects using internal task tracking systems.
  • Providing updated project status reports to key internal and customer constituents.
  • Using good judgement and making decisions independently.
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal, oral, and written skills to effectively communicate interdepartmentally and externally.

Your job-specific tasks would also include responsibilities such as:

  • Lead, manage, and hold accountability for the success of all assigned projects, and complete projects to planned cost and time constraints.
  • Create appropriate documents for scheduling and tracking projects.
  • Coordinate with Sales to facilitate transition and onboarding of new or designated projects.
  • Train and lead the project team members assigned to the project, serving as the subject matter expert.
  • Document and seek to continuously improve work flow and processes.
  • Define, train, and lead others to follow processes in the process management system.
  • Input and process customer orders for products and installation.
  • Analyze customer inquiries to determine appropriate scheduling for production and shipping.
  • Organize survey information into distributable data sets to provide quotes to customers.
  • Research hardware needs for customers and customer orders.
  • Quote detailed and specific hardware and installations.
  • Organize orders to enable projects to be completed in an efficient and timely manner by technicians at the customer locations.
  • Proactively resolve any possible production scheduling, shipping, or invoicing problems.
  • Review orders received for pricing, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information requested by the customer.
  • Follow up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Monitor parts stock levels to ensure adequate quantities are available for projects.
  • Receive and follow up on any customer issues.
  • Consult with production, shipping, warehouse, or freight carrier to trace or expedite any missing or delayed shipments.
  • Compile statistics and prepare various reports for management.
  • Define and implement base metrics to track overall project performance.

Project Manager Skills/Requirements

If you are proficient at communicating with employees, vendors and customers and are strong at effectively organizing and executing responsibilities in an efficient manner, this may be an excellent position for you. Familiarity with door and hardware terminology is a great starting point, but for those who are eager to learn, there is plenty of opportunity to learn and grow here. LockNet's environment is fast-paced, and consistently requires collaboration with multiple team members.

Other skills requirements include:

  • 1-3 years of project management experience required, but a background in scheduling, door, frames, locks, and/or the hardware for them, or construction, are all a plus.
  • Strong Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and the ability to navigate through multiple software programs easily is required.
  • Technical experience reading and understanding blueprints preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak professionally, clearly, and concisely is required.
  • DHI Certification a plus.
