LockNet is looking for a growth-oriented, IT Business Intelligence Developer Analyst to join our IT Department. We are looking for someone with experience in T-SQL who is interested in both new development and maintenance and enhancement of existing code. This candidate must have solid technical aptitude, is hardworking, self-motivated, focused, and has a passion for designing, developing SQL, and supporting multiple internal customers.

You would make valuable contributions by:

  • Quickly consuming, processing, and returning requested data in required reporting format.
  • Effectively and efficiently using logical thinking and problem-solving skills while handling multiple priorities with varying time restraints.
  • Demonstrating interpersonal skills and proficiency in business vocabulary to effectively represent the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to translate technical knowledge into actionable directions for employees.
  • Maintenance of information in a confidential manner.

Your job-specific tasks would also include responsibilities such as:

  • Providing analysis, design and development of SQL code. Debugs and resolves data errors.
  • Assisting with the creation of reports and dashboards using the appropriate BI tools.
  • Assisting with development and maintenance of ETL processes.
  • Providing second line customer support.
  • Reviewing and providing technical documentation as appropriate.
  • Conducting peer reviews and provides input on design and implementation.
  • Developing processes to minimize data quality risks and proactively identify potential data issue.
  • Collaborating with key stake holders to analyze and interpret data.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Software Development Skills/Requirements

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science Degree or related field
  • 3+ years' experience coding in T-SQL including queries, stored procedures and functions
  • Experience analyzing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and performance tuning existing code
  • Experience analyzing OLTP data models including the ability to identify important elements of tables and views (e.g. data types, identity columns, primary keys, indices, etc...) and the ability to identify and define relationships between objects
  • Some experience with a fixed-format reporting tool such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau or Crystal Reports/Business Objects
  • Ability to read and understand user requirements/stories and plan work accordingly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • Ability to work within a schedule and meet deadlines
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Experience creating data models for OLTP or OLAP (star schema preferred)
    • Experience with a data warehouse, data vault, data marts or SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) tabular model
    • Experience with Power BI
    • Experience with ETL using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Advanced Excel skills using pivot tables, Power Pivot and Power Query
  • Experience with software version control using TFS/VSTS or Git
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems and make recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
